Local Bilingual School Offers Students a Full Experience

Lycee International de Houston is a private and bilingual school in Katy that offers education from students 18 months to 12th grade. It’s a great opportunity to give students a worldly education while meeting the needs of every student for their entire education experience before college.

Lycee International de Houston focuses on the full experience for their students.

“At Lycée International, we organize at least one music, one sport and one community service event each month,” says Arnaud Renard, who oversees events for the school. “We believe that music and sports are essential in the development of a student's excellence and we want to create eco-citizen students who are involved in environmental issues and to help the other through community service activities.”

The middle school and high school students recently went on a daytrip to Camp Cho-Yeh in Galveston. They also attended a performance of “Mr. Hare Takes Mr. Leopard of a Ride” at the Millder Outdoor Theater.

Students also recently went to Livingston.

“The trip to Livingston was to integrate new students while the trip to Galveston was to clean up the beaches to preserve the turtles,” says Renard. “Musical events such as our monthly talent show are meant to motivate, share and showcase the students.”

“We also celebrate traditional holidays from different cultures, which helps to develop a cultural identity.

Of course, sports with our "Soccer night", "Ninja warrior", "Field day" ...etc,” says Renard.

Lycee International de Houston was founded in 2017 when the founders believed that the greater Katy area needed such an International school experience.

“Our school puts the child's interest at the center of all learning and this requires a lot of consultation between the teachers and also with the administration to always choose the best for the child,” says Renard.

As all educational facilities, Lycee has had to adapt to the pandemic.

“The health situation has forced us to rethink our organization, especially for group activities,” says Renard. “At LIH, we work as a team, from the cleaning staff to the administration, we are united and united to ensure that the children have the best learning conditions in a safe environment.”

LIH also belongs to the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE).

The Lycée International de Houston’s Dual Diploma allows students to graduate at the end of the 12th grade with both a verified American diploma, the High School Diploma, and the French Baccalaureate or the International Baccalaureate.

Their next Open House is Saturday, November 13 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
