Katy and Fulshear residents can expect serious traffic delays as major road closures happen this weekend. Fort Bent County Sheriff's Office announced that FM 1093 eastbound from FM 1463 will be closed all weekend.
Holiday shoppers and Fort Bend County commuters caught up in the busy time of the season will be put out as FM 1093 eastbound from FM 1463 will be closed this weekend. The closure starts at 9 pm on Friday December 14 and ends at 5 am on Monday December 17. The Fort Bend County Sheriff's office recommends that If you're heading southbound on 1463, turn east on Fry Road to Spring Green.
Project Completion Date
"This is a joint project between TXDOT and the Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority," said the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office. The current project extending the Westpark Tollway to FM 1463 with frontage roads extended to Cross Creek Bend Lane is estimated to be completed March 2019.
"The purpose of this closure is for the installation of a storm sewer that will provide a drainage outfall for TxDOT's future FM 1463 widening project," said Commissioner Meyers. "Law enforcement officers will be on hand at the closure and along the signed detour route to assist in keeping traffic moving."
According to the Fort Bend Sheriff's Office the next phase will be to widening FM 1093 through downtown Fulshear to James Lane.
More Closures
FM 762 / FM 2759 (Crabb River Rd) railroad crossing will also be closed Friday night into Saturday. It is recommended to detour Berdette to A. Meyer to Benton.
Authorities advise drivers to be extra careful this weekend and allow more time for shopping and going to holiday events.
