Authorities reported a man was shot multiple times last night in the parking lot at Katy’s Academy Sports and Outdoors on Katy Freeway near Grand Parkway.

Shooting at Academy
Yesterday evening, October 15, the sounds of multiple sirens rushing to the Academy Sports and Outdoors at 23488 Katy Freeway alarmed many Katy residents.
At 7:12 p.m. last night, Harris County Sherrif's Office Captain J. Shannon took to Twitter to report a shooting.
Witnesses took to social media to share their experiences.
One person described walking out of Academy and hearing that there had been a shooting. She described seeing someone put into an ambulance and a helicopter on the scene.
Another witness said that Life Flight was there.
Several commented on a teen or young man being shot but details on the victim or his condition haven't been shared by officials.
