An early morning shooting at a Katy-area apartment complex resulted in the death of a mother. Her 4-year-old daughter was shot twice but was reported conscious when police arrived. An investigation is underway, but authorities believe it to be an isolated incident.
Authorities Responded to a Shooting Early This Morning
Houston Police responded to a shooting at the Paramount Apartments at the 1800 block of Barker Cypress in Houston around 4:19 a.m. At arrival they found that a mother had been shot to death and her 4-year-old daughter had been shot twice but was conscious and breathing.
Five Children Were Present
A 10-year-old had called relatives for help after the shooting occurred. Authorities report that there were five children in the apartment at the time of the shooting.
While this is an active and ongoing investigation, authorities do believe that it was an isolated incident. There are currently no reports on who the shooter was.
