Drum Corps International Competition Returns to Legacy Stadium Friday Night

Extensive Summer Tour

Legacy Stadium welcomes drum corps teams from all over the country to compete this Friday, July 19 at 7:30pm. The high-energy event, presented by Band Shoppe, is part of the DCI 2019 Summer Tour. The tour includes more than 100 shows in 37 states and culminates at the World Championship Finals in Indianapolis, IN on August 10.

Performing Groups

The drum corps taking the field at Legacy Stadium include: Bluecoats of Canton, OH, Blue Devils of Concord, CA, Blue Stars of La Crosse, WI, The Cadets of Allentown, PA, Carolina Crown of Ft. Mill, SC, The Cavaliers of Rosemont, IL, Phantom Regiment of Rockford, IL, and Santa Clara Vangaurd of Santa Clara, CA.

The talented band members, aged 14-22, will take the field with amazing costumes and sophisticated props. Each competing group features musical ensembles of up to 150 brass musicians and percussionists. They will be joined by dancers and performers with flags, rifles, sabers, dance, and color guard.

The Legacy Stadium audience can expect to be entertained by each corps' intricate visual formations and stunning choreography. Musical arrangements will span a variety of genres including classical, jazz, pop and rock music.

The Cadets, Allentown, PA

During the summer touring season, many of these elite groups will travel more than 10,000 miles and rehearse an average of 10 hours a day to compete at the highest levels of musical and performance excellence. More than 70% of the participants are full-time college students, many of whom are pursing degrees in musical education.
