The Katy Police Department and Katy Mills will host a ribbon cutting and unveiling of the new Katy Police Department Substation at today's Katy-Area Safety Fest. The family-fun and educational festivities start at 10:00 a.m.

Substation to be Unveiled at Safety Festival
The Katy Police Department is opening a new substation at Katy Mills near Restoration Hardware. The Katy Mills management will host a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:00 a.m. as part of this year’s annual Katy-Area Safety Fest. Local residents are invited to the free and family-fun celebration.
Festival Starts at 10:00 AM
The Katy-Area Safety Fest is today, April 23, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in parking lot 6C, 6 and 7A (5000 Katy Mills Circle.) The purpose of the event is to educate Katy families on safety while having fun.
Those who attend will be able to meet with brave men and women from over 20 Greater Katy-Area emergency response personnel in addition to experiencing hands-on activities. Get a close up look at ladder truck and ambulance tours as well as helicopter landings and take-offs.
Families can learn life-saving skills through educational classes with home safety demonstrations and Firehouse Combat Challenges. There is also Fun Kids Zone.
From 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. guests can enjoy the celebration of the new Katy Police Department Substation between mall entrances 6 and 7. Enjoy some free treats and a selfie station with characters like Chase on the Case, Officer Judy Hopps and more.
