Overseas technology manufacturer giant, Inventec Manufacturing, has chosen Katy to build an artificial intelligence and electronics manufacturing plant. Phase one will be $55 million dollars and starts construction this month.

Inventec Manufacturing will start construction this month on phase one of their artificial intelligence and electronics manufacturing plant that will be 23623 Colonial Parkway in Katy.
While this first phase will be $55 million, the project is part of an $85 million U.S. investment strategy that was approved this year.
The plant will be 540,000-square-foot and be used for electronics manufacturing.
Familiar products that the company builds are gaming laptops and Amazon’s Fire tablets and Kindle e-readers.
In a statement to the Houston Business Journal, Newmark, the site's property manager, said the Class A facility features a 36-foot clear height, ESFR sprinklers, 6,000 amps of power and over 9 acres of concrete for extensive employee and trailer parking.
This move will help Inventec avoid potential 32% tariffs on Taiwanese imports under President Donals Trump’s trade policies.
The City of Katy and its surrounding area continues to grow as new businesses, residential developments, and new schools continue to move and open to best serve the residents.
