Scam Targets Katy Rice Harvest Festival Vendors; Sign Up Safely

The historic and traditional Katy event, the Katy Rice Harvest Festival is accepting vendors, volunteers, and selling tickets. This week a scam has targeted the vendors, but Katy officials are sharing important information to protect those who want to give back to the community through this great event.
Vendor registration is open for the Katy Rice Harvest Festival and officials are sharing information to stay safe from a current scam.
Earlier this week, Katy officials were made aware of a scam targeting event vendors. Vendors need to know that all payments are processed through the Eventeny platform and that no payment will ever be requested through another source.
In addition to this, official event communication will only ever come from Kaci Maris, Elizabeth West (from their official City of Katy emails,) KatyRiceFestival@cityofkaty.com pr events@cityofkaty.com.
Do not send personal information or payments from someone using a gmail account or the name “Amanda Hatcher.”
This year’s event will be Saturday, October 10, 2026, and Sunday, October 11, 2026.
“The Katy Rice Harvest Festival isn’t just another event — it’s a celebration of who we are as a community,” says Kaci Maris, City of Katy Tourism and Marketing Event Coordinator. “Rooted in Katy’s proud agricultural history, the festival began as a way to honor the area’s rice farming heritage — the very industry that built the foundation of this city. Over the years, it’s grown into a beloved tradition that brings together thousands of residents, visitors, and local businesses for one unforgettable weekend in historic downtown Katy.
Maris stresses for vendors and residents to contact the city directly if they see a suspicious message.
“Stay vigilant and help us spread the word to other vendors,” says Maris.
Registration has also opened for the 2026 Katy Rice Harvest Festival Parade. The parade will take place on October 3 and is always a fun morning in Downtown Katy. Registration is only $25 and benefits the Rotary Fund, supporting community grants and scholarships right here in Katy.

The Katy Rice Harvest Festival continues to raise the bar for the 2026 season and has announced headlining talent Lonestar and Neal McCoy. The historic Katy event gives back to the community and distributed more than $100,000 in scholarships last year to local students, marking the largest amount in event history.
