Seven Lakes Marching Band Goes After State Championship Title for 6th Consecutive Year

Katy ISD’s Seven Lakes High School Marching Band will represent the district at the UIL State Marching Band Championship this Monday in San Antonio.

After progressing through regional and area competitions, Seven Lakes High School’s Marching Band will represent their school and district at this year’s UIL State Marching Band Championship.

"We have reached the state championship for the last six consecutive years, and we are the only school in Katy ISD to have achieved that," says Principal Kerri Finnesand. "I am so very proud of our students and staff for their hard work and dedication." 

 The Spartans will perform their highly acclaimed show, “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” as part of the 6A competition, and will begin their quest toward a state title on Monday, November 11 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

The band performed a sendoff performance at Legacy Stadium this past Tuesday.

“Congratulations to the Seven Lakes marching band who will go to the State Championships,” says Katy ISD Board of Trustee Dawn Champagne. “Impressively, Seven Lakes has reached this goal now six times. I am in awe of the talent and hard work of band students across the district.”

Katy families can go support the band in San Antonio. Tickets can be purchased online from the Alamodome box office or through Ticketmaster. Tickets are $29.50. Children under two years old are free.

“Many hours are spent rehearsing both musical arrangements and complex choreography,” says Champagne. “Way to go Seven Lakes marching band!”
