Tompkins Falcons boys basketball team are headed to the state championship after two wins this weekend.

Katy ISD Tompkins Falcons boys basketball team won the regional championship basketball game on Saturday against Alief Taylor Lions on Saturday 60-43. On Friday, the Falcons dominated Deer Park with a final score of 97-50. These two wins secured the Falcons a spot in the state championship game.
Under the direction of head coach, Robert Sanders, the Falcons have an overall record of 31-8 and are ranked 13th in Texas and 63rd in the nation in Region III-6A. It is the first regional title for Tompkins and the first time a Katy ISD school will be in the boys basketball state tournament. Tompkins will be the only Houston Metro team in San Antonio next weekend.
Friday, March 9 at 7pm, the Falcons will take on the Allen Eagles for the state championship title at the Alamodome.. The Allen Eagles are ranked third in Texas and 11th in the nation.
