Warner Bros., City of Katy Team Up for Practical Magic 2 Event at Rock the Block

Something witchy is coming to the City of Katy’s Historic Town Center’s Rock the Block party this weekend. Warner Bros. is teaming up with the city to bring special promotional giveaways and events to celebrate their upcoming film, Practical Magic 2.
The historic Downtown Katy will once again play the setting to an event for all ages this Saturday, August 22, 2026. During the Rock the Block event, guests can celebrate the upcoming release of Practical Magic 2. Warner Bros. is assisting in setting the tone and the events.
"Saturday is our Rock the Block event," says Kaci Maris, City of Katy Tourism & Marketing Event Coordinator. "It's a throwback night, we'll have an 80's live music band here. This is originally what the event was."
But Warner Bros. reached out to the City of Katy. They researched the Town Square events and thought they would be a good fit to promote their film. They are the only venue in the greater city of Houston to do so.
At the event, that runs from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., guests can enjoy special Practical Magic 2
Themed photo booths and promotional giveaways. In theme with the film, Tarot card readings from Katy’s Moon Girl Boutique will be available.
At Rock the Block, live music will be by Sector-A Band. Food and drinks will from the Old Katy Patio.
Midnight Margaritas will be served FREE while supplies last (guests must provide a valid ID.)
The event will be complete with retro entertainment and LED lighting along with classic arcade games.
This event is just another example of the award-winning City of Katy Tourism and Events team.
As always, City of Katy events are free and open to the public. The festivities are aimed to bring the community together.
The next event is set for September 12, 2026 with Boots and Brews and will be the official kick off to the Katy Rice Harvest Festival. The event will feature live music from Holly Tucker and Hayden Baker.

Practical Magic 2 is the sequel to the popular 1998 classic. Origional witches Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman return as they lead a new generation of witches. The film debuts in theatres September 11, 2026 and this event will help guests get ready to return to a classic.
