Typhoon Texas Hosts ‘Quiet Waters’, a Free Morning for Sensory-Sensitive Children this Friday

Typhoon Texas will welcome families with sensory-sensitive children this Friday morning for free play. The event will omit background music, spray features, and reduce crowds to give these children access with minimal sensory stimulation.

Typhoon Texas welcomes families with sensory-sensitive children to the Katy waterpark this Friday, July 25, 2025, from 9-10:30 a.m. The event is free for the child and one accompanying chaperone. Additional tickets can be purchased for $10 each at the park entrance.
In recognition of National Challenged Champions and Heroes Awareness Day, Typhoon Texas will host its first “Quiet Waters” event with no background music, no spray features, and reduced crowds for minimal sensory stimulation. As an added benefit, guests will enjoy early entry before the park opens to the general public.
“Quiet Waters reflects our ongoing commitment to inclusion and accessibility by offering guests of all abilities the opportunity to experience the fun of Typhoon Texas in a supportive setting,” says John Pham, marketing director for Typhoon Texas.
Space is available on a first-come first-serve basis.
According to a study in JAMA Pediatrics, a peer-reviewed medical journal published by the American Medical Association, one in six children experience sensory processing difficulties, with even higher rates among those with autism or related conditions
Now in its tenth season, Typhoon Texas is located at 555 Katy Fort Bend Rd. next to Katy Mills Mall. Free onsite parking, free tubes and free life jackets are available.
