Free preschool offered in Texas for children who qualify
A free, public pre-kindergarten education is offered in Texas to students deemed "at risk". Some of eligibility guidelines include unable to speak or understand a English, a child of a US military member or US military member who was injured or killed while serving, child of someone who is eligibile for the Star of Texas award, or homeless. Tips for Choosing a Katy Preschool:
*Schedule - Some preschools follow the local school district calendar therefore they are out many more days than a "daycare" setting"
*Teacher Education - Does the school require and support teachers in continuing? Are those records kept at the school and can they provide them to you?
*School Transportation - Does this school offer before/after school care? If possible,
parents prefer to have their child attend a preschool that they can continue into
elementary school and will provide transportation to the school.
*Health Code History - Have you checked the state database to learn what violations the school has received in the last few years?
*Recommendations - Have any of your friend's children attended this school? What was their experience? A good resource is to ask for recommendations on a local Facebook group. Many moms won't hesitate to share their experiences with you.
