Overnight Car Break-Ins Reported in One Katy Area Neighborhood

Cinco Ranch neighborhood targeted by thieves

KATY MAGAZINE NEWS - Katy, TX

September 17, 2017

At least three residents in the Cinco Ranch Southwest areas woke up Saturday morning, September 16, to find out their cars were accessed or broken into in their driveways. One of the residents had his car stolen from inside his garage on the same night of the break ins. The thieves seem to have hit cars around the vicinity of Cinco Terrace Drive and Cinco Rose Drive. One resident's car was unlocked and its doors were left open but no valuables were inside to be taken.

Here are some important tips with regard to car break-ins:

1. Lock your car every time you exit it and do not leave valuables inside. 2. Remember that if you leave your car open, you may be giving the thief access to your garage door opener/garage/home. 3. Report break-ins to local authorities. 4. Install security cameras in view of the driveway to help prevent thieves from choosing your home. Anyone who has information on these or other Fort Bend County crimes is asked to call Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers, Inc. at (281) 342-TIPS (8477)
