Liquidation sale starts Friday at all Toys R Us and Babies R Us stores, but due to the Thursday delay, we suggest you call ahead before making a trip. Below are the phone numbers to the Katy locations.
Toys R Us (Katy Mills Mall) 281-644-7600
Babies R Us (I-10 and Fry area) 281-829-1000
WHAT SALES TO EXPECT
Percentages off will start low. Usually in liquidations sales, the consumer should expect to see 10%-30% in the beginning and they will increase over time. However, if you are searching for a specific, HOT item, don't wait too long because these are the first to go (American Girl Dolls, electronic items). Online items are NOT on sale at this time.
ATTEMPTS TO SAVE TOYS R US
"Bratz" executive Isaac Larian and other investors have pledged a total of $200 million and hope to raise four times that amount in crowdfunding in a bid to save potentially more than half of the 735 store. If you wish to donate, click here to access the GoFundMe campaign. This is the first attempt to save Toys R Us since it filed for bankruptcy.
Gift cards will be honored until April 20th. Toys R Us has extended the previous deadline from April 15th.
BABIES R US GIFT REGISTRIES
At Babies R Us, all gift registries will stay open and available until stores close in June. As to be expected with a liquidation, items will go quickly so all items on the registry might not be available.
