The event is a major fundraiser for the fall as the proceeds all go to benefit the organization.

“The Vintage Carnival is more than just fun games and cotto candy,” says Katy Heritage Society President Adrienne Davitz. “It’s about preserving and celebrating Katy’s rich past and for many locals, this event has become a cherished tradition.”

The Katy Heritage Society, the city’s oldest nonprofit, is currently offering discounted tickets. Early bird pricing is going on now through September 20 at 7:00 p.m. For $20 per household, get 25 carnival tickets from the price of 20.

Concessions will be on sale such as hotdogs, popcorn, cotton candy, chips, drinks and more.

Enjoy popular games like ring toss, spin the wheel, bean bag toss, ducky in the pond, high striker strongman, fish bowl ping pong, Plinko, a giant connect 4, sack races, a clown and balloon art, and more fun made possible by great local sponsors.

There will also face painting and a petting zoo.

A Fun Way to Involve Local Businesses

For 45 years, the Katy Heritage Society has been hosting family fun community events. According to Davitz, the Vintage Carnival was started to get local businesses involved. Each booth and event is sponsored and operated by a local business.

The inaugural year started with 10-15 businesses involved. This year will have 25.

All proceeds go back to the Katy Heritage Society and their mission to preserve Katy history and traditions.

The Katy Heritage Society hosts their historic Katy homes tours the first weekend of the month from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Step into the past and learn about Katy’s rich history.

The Katy Heritage Society also operates the Train Depot located on First Street, which welcomes visitors Thursday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Depot holds many railroad relics and historical exhibits.

“The Vintage Carnival brings together generations to share in simple pleasures and community connection,” says Davitz. “Proceeds benefit the Katy Heritage Society, helping them maintain and protect historic landmarks and educational programming through the year.”

Tickets can be purchased online. Learn more about the Katy Heritage Society on their website.
