Katy ISD Culinary Students to Sell Baked Goods; Support Students and Ease Thanksgiving Prep

Katy ISD’s culinary students at the Miller Career and Technology Center will once again offer their popular fundraiser this Thanksgiving. Choose from a variety of bakes goods to fill your holiday table or to gift to friends and neighbors.

It’s Thanksgiving time Katy and students from the Old Town Bistro are once again hosting their annual fundraiser that helps you bring baked goods to your table or to give away to friends, family, and neighbors.

Culinary students from Katy ISD’s Miller Career and Technology Center operate the Old Town Bistro (1734 Katyland Dr.) They are open most Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m. and 12:30 p.m.- 1:30 p.m. and follow the Katy ISD schedule. Follow them on Facebook for updates and menu items.

 

Next week, Katy families can go shop for a variety of baked goods, including dog treats! The Old Town Bistro will be open for their Thanksgiving shop on Wednesday, November 19th from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Thursday, November 20th from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

 

The hand-crafted treats made by culinary students are delicious and beautiful,” says Katy ISD Board Trustee Rebecca Fox. “This fundraiser is an opportunity for the community to support these students in their competitions to perfect their skills and talents. Save yourself hours of work while impressing your guests with the cookies, pies, breads and more.”

 

Items available for purchase include:


  • Pumpkin Bread- $10

  • Pumpkin Pie- $15

  • Cranberry Orange Custard Pie- $20

  • Carrot Cake- $15

  • Pumpkin Cream Cheese Roll- $25

  • Cookies (assorted flavors) 1 dozen- $12

  • Decorated Sugar Cookies 1 dozen- $20

  • Muffins half dozen- $10

  • Dinner Rolls 1 dozen- $10

  • Fresh Cranberry Relish- $10

  • Dog treats 4 count- $3

“Make your Thanksgiving prep a little easier this year by shopping for Thanksgiving treats (for your pups too) at Old Town Bistro,” says Katy ISD Board Trustee Dawn Champagne. “Your purchases will support our Miller students at the same time.”

 

Katy students in Miller programs offer many services that give students hands-on and real-world experience while serving the community with discounted rates.
