A car-jacking led to a brief police chase and a shooting victim last night in North Katy. Thanks to fast acting Precinct 5 deputies, the suspect has been arrested. The victim though intially in critical condition, is expected to survive.

Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct 5 under the direction of Constable Terry Allbritton, responded to a car-jacking last night, January 22, 2025.
The carjacking began at a gas station at the 19200 block of Clay Road and Greenhouse.
An adult woman was allegedly car-jacked at gunpoint but found unharmed at the gas station. She was found unharmed at the gas station but the suspect took off in her vehicle. Precinct 5 deputies located the stolen vehicle and pursued the suspect in a brief police chase that ended at the entrance ramp of Grand Parkway and Clay Road.
There the suspect was detained but a female was found in the vehicle with a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital via Lifeflight in critical condition. This morning she is reported to be in fair condition and expected to recover.
“It’s possible the suspect committed the alleged carjacking, went to his ex-girlfriend’s home/apt, she ended up in the vehicle, and he may have shot her when she attempted to jump out of the vehicle,” says Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
There was a brief window between the car-jacking and the Precinct 5 deputies locating the vehicle when this could have occurred.

This morning authorities shared that the suspect is ChristopherRashad Morgan (10-11-06.) According to Sheriff Gonzalez, Morgan has been charged with Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Assault w/deadly weapon, and Evading w/motor vehicle. Morgan has been booked in the Harris County Jail.
This car-jacking is still under investigation. Sheriff Gonzalez praises the deputies of Precinct 5 and the HCSO investigators.
